JAY TSURUDA, MD

Jay Tsuruda, MD has a Bachelors degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and MD degree and Radiology Residency, University of  California , San Diego. He is  board certified in Diagnostic Radiology with additional two year fellowship training in Neuroradiology at University of California, San Francisco. 


Dr. Tsuruda has had been in academic medicine at University of California, San Francisco, University of Washington and University of Utah, and was responsible for patient care, clinical research and Resident, Fellow and Graduate student and post-doctoral teaching. 


Dr. Tsuruda has intellectual property experience and is a co-inventor of two US Patents, and has numerous presentations, lectures and peer reviewed papers. He also has extensive pain management experience with image guided injections of the spine and peripheral nerves, MR  Neurography was well as advanced functional imaging of the brain. 


Dr. Tsuruda brings a wealth of knowledge in medical legal consulting based on his clinical and scientific background with attention to detail and critical thinking.

ALYSSA WATANABE, MD

Alyssa Watanabe, MD is a board-certified radiologist in Southern California with fellowship training in neuroradiology and interventional neuroradiology.


Dr. Watanabe is a Clinical Associate Professor of Neuroradiology at USC Keck School of Medicine. She is Past President of the American Society of Spine Radiology and has also served on the Executive Committees of American Society of Neuroradiology, American Society of Spine Radiology, and California Radiological Society. She is a Fellow of the American College of Radiology and a member of ACR,  ASNR(Senior Member),  ASSR,  WNRS (Senior Member), CRS, LARS,  SBI,  ASFNR and ECR.


Dr. Watanabe is a Medical Reviewer for the California Medical Board. Dr. Watanabe is also the Chief Medical Officer at Cure Metrix, an AI software company and maintains a staff appointment at Scripps Clinics and Scripps Green Hospital in La Jolla, CA.


Dr. Watanabe has knowledge in advanced neuroimaging techniques such as DTI (diffusion tensor imaging), spinal imaging, and image guided spinal interventions for pain management. She was Co-Director of MRI at Long Beach Memorial and was Director of Spinal Imaging and Interventions at Memrad Medical Group and Renaissance Imaging Medical Associates.


Dr. Watanabe also has expertise in women’s imaging and artificial intelligence applications in medical imaging.


Dr. Watanabe is a graduate of Stanford University and then attended UCSF School of Medicine where she was a Regents Scholar.

JAY ACHARYA, MD

Jay Acharya, MD is a board-certified Radiologist with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Neuroradiology from the American Board of Radiology.


He is a faculty member at UCLA where he is an Associate Professor of Radiology. Dr. Acharya was previously a faculty member at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and at USC before that. Dr. Acharya was formerly the Associate Chief of the Neuroradiology division, as well as formerly the Director of Spine Imaging and Intervention at USC. He also previously served as the Program Director for the Neuroradiology Fellowship program at USC. 


He received his medical degree at New York Medical College and also completed residency in Diagnostic Radiology at New York Medical College. He completed fellowship training in Neuroradiology at the University of Southern California. 


He has a specific interest in spinal imaging and intervention. Dr. Acharya has presented multiple lectures, educational and scientific exhibits, and posters at national and international meetings and is a member of the American Society of Neuroradiology, American Society of Spine Radiology, Western Neuroradiological Society, Radiological Society of North America, and American Roentgen Ray Society.

TINOOSH ZAND, MD

Tinoosh Zand, MD is board-certified in Diagnostic Radiology from Harvard Medical School/Mount Auburn Hospital and is fellowship trained in Muskuloskeletal Radiology from University of Southern California.


Dr. Zand is a senior partner and director of Muskuloskeletal Radiology in a private practice radiology group in Southern California since 2010.


Dr. Zand has expertise in interpretation of imaging of musculoskeletal system  and spine and is an experienced medical legal consultant expert .

ROBERT TURNER, MD

Robert Turner, MD graduated from Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) with a B.S. in chemistry. He obtained his MD degree from Case Western Reserve University (Cleveland, Ohio). He did his residency in diagnostic radiology at Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital (New York, New York). He completed his two year neuroradiology fellowship at the Neurological Institute of New York and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (Los Angeles, California. 


Dr. Turner has held numerous academic appointments at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, UCLA, UCI, and USD. He has been a guest lecturer at Tulane Medical Center, Cleveland Clinic, Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital and University of Washington. 


He was director of neuroradiology at Mission Community Medical Center, a trauma center in southern California. He was also a partner at Digital and Radiologic Imaging Center and has interpreted during the past thirty years over 100,000 MRI exams (body, spine, brain, and musculoskeletal). 


His expertise also includes pain management ((epidurals, nerve root blocks, nerve ablation, facet injections, etc.) as well as advanced neuroimaging techniques (NeuroQuant analysis, diffusion tensor imaging, neurography)

JUAN ESTEVA, MD

Juan C Esteva, MD specializes in interventional radiology in Pasadena, CA and has over 23 years of experience in the field of medicine.


Dr. Esteva graduated from Ponce School of Medicine with his medical degree in 1997 and was trained in Diagnostic Radiology at LAC/USC medical Center from 1998-2002.He holds a sub-specialty training in Vascular and Interventional Radiology from MD Anderson Cancer Center since 2003.


Dr. Esteva is affiliated with numerous hospitals in California and more, including Garfield Medical Center. He has extensive experience in diagnostic spine imaging and image guided interventions, plus all matter of general body Interventional Radiology.


Dr. Juan C Esteva is licensed to practice by the Medical Board of California (A 66995). 

Priya Rajagopalan, MBBS, MPH

  Priya Rajagopalan, MBBs, MPH is a board-certified Radiologist with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Neuroradiology from the American Board of Radiology.

 

She is a faculty member at Los Angeles General Medical Center and a volunteer Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiology at USC Keck School of Medicine. Dr. Rajagopalan is the Medical Director of Center for Image Acquisition at USC.  She also serves as the Associate Program Director for the Neuroradiology Fellowship program at USC. 

 

She completed her residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Indiana University. She then completed a fellowship training in Neuroradiology at the University of California San Francisco followed by serving as a clinical Instructor for a year.

 

She has research interests in neuroimaging and genetics in Alzheimer’s disease.  Dr. Rajagopalan has presented multiple lectures, educational and scientific exhibits, and posters at national and international meetings and is a member of the American Society of Neuroradiology, American Society of Spine Radiology, Western Neuroradiological Society, American Society of Functional Neuroradiology and The Alzheimer's Association International Society to Advance Alzheimer's Research and Treatment.

Edward S. Yoon, md

 Dr. Edward Yoon is the Chief of Interventional Radiology at Hospital for Special Surgery, the #1 ranked hospital in the United States for orthopedics. He is double board certified in Diagnostic Radiology and Interventional Pain Management, specializing in interventional musculoskeletal radiology and minimally invasive management of joint and spine pain.

Dr. Yoon graduated with honors from Carnegie Mellon University before earning his medical degree from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. His comprehensive training includes a research assistantship at Weill Cornell Medical School's Department of Anesthesia, an internship at Flushing Medical Center, and a residency in Radiology at Stony Brook University Hospital. He further refined his expertise through dual fellowships: a Musculoskeletal fellowship at Hospital for Special Surgery and an Interventional Pain and Spine fellowship at Clinical Radiology of Oklahoma.

In addition to his primary role, Dr. Yoon serves as an Associate Attending Radiologist and Mentor in the Musculoskeletal Radiology Fellowship Program, as well as an Associate Professor of Radiology at Weill Medical College of Cornell University.

Dr. Yoon's clinical expertise includes interpreting diagnostic imaging for a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions and performing advanced interventional spine procedures such as intrathecal targeted drug delivery, neuromodulation, basivertebral nerve ablation, stem cell allograft augmentation, sacroplasty, axial skeletal osteoplasty, and radiofrequency rhizotomy.

His research focuses on regenerative medicine and interventional procedures, with participation in major clinical trials for intradiscal biologics as treatment for degenerative disc disease and kyphoplasty for back fractures. Dr. Yoon has contributed to numerous research publications, book chapters, and medical abstracts, and serves as an Ad Hoc Journal Reviewer for several prestigious medical publications.

A respected educator, Dr. Yoon has lectured nationally and internationally in his field and is a member of several esteemed professional societies, including the North American Spine Society, the Society of Skeletal Radiology, and the American Society of Spine Radiology.


 Dr. Edward Yoon is licensed to practice by the Medical Board of Connecticut, Florida, New Jersey, New York.  

JASNIT MAKKAR, md

Jasnit Makkar, MD is a board-certified Abdominal Imaging and Chest Radiologist.

He is a faculty member at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, where he serves as an Assistant Professor of Radiology. In addition to his clinical role, Dr. Makkar is the Residency Director of the Diagnostic Radiology Residency at Columbia.

Dr. Makkar completed his fellowship in Body MR Imaging at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Manhattan, NY. He has a specific interest in Hepatobiliary Imaging and has authored several publications and delivered regional and national lectures on Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) and Liver Transplantation.

He is an active member of the Association of Academic Radiologists and remains engaged in advancing education and research in the field.
